Marginal observations on the “Da Vinci Code”: here are the true “children” of Jesus !

Someone has said that reguarding the devil, one talks too much or too little. That’s why I hesitate a bit to add something - that still seems to me relevant - to what already has been said, debated, cotroverted etc. on the “Da Vinci Code”: un undoubted mediatic event, that yet many doubts has raised about the sincerità of the author, first of all, and then of the publisher of the book (in the first editions, a mystificatory introduction  pretended to convince the readers reguardig the seriousness and trustworthiness of the author’s “revelations”). However, if Dan Brown’s and his editor’s aim was to rouse curiosity and /or scandalize to sell in a big way, well that aim has been fully attained.
A brief but eloquent comment on the subiect appeared some time ago on the web site Ciai-s.net:

“Forgive what they write, what they say, what they do, what they believe”: a censure reguarding all of us, not  only those responsible of this tremendous mediatic blasphemy, who “on their own crucify again the Son of God and are holding him to contempt”(see the Letter to the Hebrews 6:6). Unfortunatly, the true “discover” brought by the “Da Vinci Code” is the ignorance too many christians have on the fundaments of threir faith, a situation that deservs to be seriously considered.
“What’s wrong in believing that Jesus may have had children?” one has heard from “simple” people; while from more authoritative voices in religious matters there has not been - at times - a definite incontrovertibile confutation of the absurd hypothesis that Jesus  had children in the common meaning of the word.
Inded, Jesus has had children, and many of them; and it’s also true that he left a progeny on this earth. But the story is not just what the “Da Vinci Code” would make us believe.
Already the prophet Isaiah more than five centuries before,  predicted that the Messiah would generate a descent: “When he will make his life an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring” (Isaiah 53:10). Still more explicitly, the same prophet puts these words into the Saviour’s mouth: “See,I and the children whom the Lord has given me” (Isaiah 8:18, see also in Hebrews 2:12). But who these children of Jesus are, and how He had them? He who could say to his opponents (a large number at  his time as nowadays): “Which of you convicts me of sin?”(Saint John 8:46), holding his head high, didn’t have children from a secret - and just for this very fact sinful - relation with a woman. It’s the sublime prologue of Saint John’ Gospel the very “code” that discloses the mistery of the “children” of Jesus: “But to all who received him, who believed in his name,he gave power to become children of God,who were born, not of blood or of the will of flesh or of the will of man, but of God” (Saint John 1:12-13).Here is a text that really deservs to be “decrypted”, starting from that word “name” that keeps in itself the true identity of Jesus: God become flesh,to make us his children: children of God!

The offspringof Jesus has come out of his innocent flesh offered as expiation of our guilts on the cross, not from the absurd marriage with the Maddalena that the american writer has pretended to reveal; a quite tardy revelation, passed annoticed to all the Saints and Doctors that have enriched the Church for  twenty centuries ! On the contrary, it’s really exciting and fascinating to discover that the true descendant of Jesus is not made of famous people, great inventors, cerebrated artists: is made instead of all those - generally “common” people - who attain faith, love and eternal salvation from Christ’s Passion and Resurrection “Christians” not because they keep something of Jesus’ d.n.a., but because having beleived in his “name” and in his love, have received his very  same Spirit: that “Spirit of truth” - Christ has said - “whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him”(Saint John 14:17).
